Hated beloved Beast

Oh, I know you are there.
Lurking in the dark.
On the other side of the mirror.
A glare so stark,
with blood lust of a killer.
Always watching,
and probing with subtlety and sleekness,
trying to find a weakness.
Hated monster, full of malice.
Pulling at the chains,
trying to tear down the palace.
I am still here, you didn´t succeed in killing me.
You would love to replace me, don´t you?
But I am vigilant, and won´t let you be.
I won´t let you have your way.
I cast you in chains,
firmly holding the reins.
I control myself, therefore I control you.
Unto the day I resolve you.
To the day I assimilate you.
Until the day you recognize, my beloved beast.
I am you, and you are me.
