Burning Inside

A tiny flame creeps up from the depths.
Smoldering at first, a harbinger of the events to come.
dancing with shadows in steady steps.
Sparks igniting siblings, everything caught on fire.
Sweltering heat, the boiling point has been reached.
Searing pain, cutting the flesh like barbed wire.
Engulfing flames how greedily you devour,
whilst charred flakes fall to the ground.
The air is already changing, bearing the smoke so sour.
From the ashes rises,
the Genesis of a new spirit.
