The Beginning of Year´s End

The colours have reappeared, heralding the coming of frigid darkness.
Frost descends upon all, giving opportunity to spark the furnace.
In hues of gold and red, the leaf glides to the ground, becoming the wind´s rattle.
The whispering trees, raise their voices, to greet the year´s end with their constant prattle.
The storm clouds in the steel blue sky, are coming upon the gales of autumn.
Sleets of ice and rain the gifts they bear. Such is their annual custom.
The creatures of the forest prepare, and retreat into their lairs.
Nothing moves, everything is still.
The return of winter´s silence upon us once again.
Here to stay, way passed yuletide, and a little more it will remain.
