A Cycle within a life.
Ends and Opportunities
Three times I have died.
Bitter tears I have cried.
Once as a child -
not faring well,
in this living hell of non-acceptance.
The mob picking on me, coaxing me into a brawl.
The disdainful looks of others. What gall!
A damn swastika on the wall.
Second time around, as an adolescent,
wishing for an antidepressant.
Searching for my place in this world.
Increasingly hollowing out.
My consciousness becoming tightly furled.
Yet thrice I have died, as an adult.
This existence, painful as a thorn.
Truly in this destiny, forlorn.
Three times I was reborn.
Each time, having shed my skin.
Throwing it into yesterday´s bin.
Getting accustomed to the moment,
after past nights torment.
The dawn of a new day.
Having become stronger after this last play.
On to a new game, everything is in the past.
The dice roll yet again, and destiny has been recast.
New opportunities await.
Let´s see what´s on this life´s plate.
